How I came to masonry in Ventura
I ran a small landscaping business for years, and the stone and block work was always the part I liked best. So I went to work under an older mason, learned the trade properly, and in 2021 I started A&B Ventura Concrete and Masonry here in Ventura.
Most of our calls come from homeowners who've spotted crumbling joints or a cracked wall, or who've had a wall, walkway or patio in mind for a while. Brick and mortar repair on older homes is what we're best known for, along with that kind of work around the yard. I care most about fixing what's actually wrong, not just what shows on the surface, so I'd rather explain something twice than have you sign off on work you don't understand. The person who quotes it runs it
I come out to look at every job myself, and I'm on site running and checking the work while our crew of experienced masons builds it. That way what we agree on at your estimate is what gets built.
Plain answers before you decide
Ask all the questions you want, and we'll explain what we see in plain words before you decide anything, including when something isn't worth doing yet. Once the job is booked, you get clear paperwork, calls returned and updates as the work moves along.
New work that matches the old
We match the brick, stone, mortar color and joint shape to what's already on your house, so a repair or an addition fits in instead of standing out. That matters most on older homes, where a patch in the wrong mortar is the first thing you notice.
Licensing, insurance and permits for your job
Fully licensed and insured.
Our license and insurance cover the masonry and concrete work we do at your property. If you want to go over either one, ask me when I come out for your estimate.
Permits handled with the right office
When a job needs a permit, we check with the city or county office that covers your address, handle the application and set up the inspections. In Ventura that's the city's Permit Services, and if it isn't clear whether your job needs a permit, we ask that office before we start.
