Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the A&B Ventura Concrete and Masonry website and any estimate, scheduling or work you arrange with us. When you use the site, ask for an estimate or hire us, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work through it.
Your written estimate or contract sets the details of your job, such as scope, price and schedule. If it conflicts with this page, the written estimate or contract controls for that job.
The services we offer
We're a masonry contractor in Ventura, CA. We do brick, block, stone and concrete work for homes in Ventura and the cities around it. You can see what we do and where we work on our home page and read more about the business on our About page.
What you read on this site is general information. It isn't a promise that a service fits your property, because every job depends on what we find once we see it. We can turn down or limit any job if the work isn't safe, isn't practical or isn't something we do.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free, we do them at your property, and you have no obligation to hire us. A price on an estimate covers only the work and materials written on it.
An estimate is our best judgment from what we can see. Masonry often hides things, like a weak footing behind a wall, rotted mortar under a cap or poor soil under a slab. If we find something that changes the work, we'll stop, show it to you and give you the change in writing. Extra work starts only after you approve it.
Material prices change, so an estimate is good for the time written on it. After that, we may need to update it before we schedule your job.
Scheduling, delays and cancellation
We'll give you a start date and a rough timeline once you approve the work. Rain, heat, cold, material delivery and permit or inspection timing can move that date, because mortar and concrete need the right conditions to cure. We'll tell you as soon as something pushes your schedule.
If you need to cancel or move your date, call us at (805) 507-9163 as early as you can. Your contract sets out any deposit terms and what happens to materials we've already ordered or custom-cut for your job.
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to keep kids, pets and vehicles clear while we work. If we can't reach the site on a scheduled day, we may need to reschedule.
Payment
Your estimate or contract states the deposit, if there is one, and when the rest is due. Payment is due on the dates it lists.
Approved changes are billed as written on the change. If a balance goes unpaid, we may pause work until it's settled and use the collection steps California law allows.
Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover
We stand behind our workmanship, and we guarantee your satisfaction. If something we built isn't right, tell us promptly and we'll come back to look at it and make it right if it's our work that's at fault.
Brick, stone and concrete are natural materials. Color and texture vary from piece to piece and batch to batch, and new mortar won't always match old mortar exactly. Concrete can also get small hairline cracks as it cures and shrinks. These are normal and aren't defects.
Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from ground movement, earthquakes, flooding, tree roots, poor drainage we didn't build, misuse, lack of upkeep or changes someone else makes to the work. Materials carry their maker's own warranty, if they have one. Apart from what's written in your contract and on this page, we make no other warranties, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on our liability
We're licensed and insured, and we take care to protect your property while we work. Even so, we aren't responsible for conditions that were already there before we started, such as old cracks, hidden pipes or lines we weren't told about, or settling that was already underway.
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or follow-on losses, like lost use of a space or rental costs. Our total liability for any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing here limits any right you have that California law says can't be limited.
Using this website
The words and photos on this site belong to A&B Ventura Concrete and Masonry. Please don't copy them for business use without asking us first.
We try to keep the site accurate, but it may have errors or be out of date, and it's offered as is. Links to other sites are for your convenience, and we're not responsible for what's on them.
If we have a disagreement
Most problems get solved with a phone call, so please reach out to us first through our Contact page or at (805) 507-9163. We'll look at the issue with you and try to settle it fairly.
If we can't settle it ourselves, we both agree to try mediation before going to court, unless the dispute fits small claims court.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any court case about them will be filed in the courts of Ventura County, California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the new version applies once it's posted here. Changes won't alter a contract you've already signed with us.
If you have a question about anything on this page, get in touch through our Contact page and we'll respond within 1 business day.
